My Exciting Weekend, Part 2

Okay, Greta was just the beginning of my exciting weekend. It just kept getting better and better. Lucky for you I took photos. Remember I told you yesterday that Kelly and I were pressed for time to buy Greta because Dan and Ned were heading out to a horse sale?
Guess what Dan bought for us?
You're not going to guess so I'm going to have to tell you.........
A peddle boat!
I know!
At the HORSE sale!
Anyway it is super cool and we put it in the pond Sunday afternoon and peddled our legs off. After we got in Dan realized we needed something to help us get out into the water better so he told Ned to get him a T-post off the farm truck that we brought the peddle boat out to the pasture in. We used the T-post like a gondola pole. We are rednecks......and proud of it! We had a blast. When we had had enough Ned & Kelly got in and took their turn. Last fall Dan & I made a few trips to Colbert Ferry Landing to take photos of the wildlife in that area. We were somewhat limited to what we could do being stuck on the bank and all. Dan said then that he was going to get us some kind of little boat that we could cruise around the slough in. All the birds seemed to be on the other side. Imagine that! We had plenty of offers from people wanting to lend us their boats. We just didn't take them up on their offers. Now, all we have to do is get us a couple of life jackets and Dan says we need some paddles so when our legs get tired we can row for a while, and we are good to go. The peddle boat even has a place behind the seats for a small cooler. Snacks. Perfect. The funniest part of our big boating adventure was the reaction of the mares and the donkeys. They absolutely did not know what to think. I think their expressions say it all.

The exciting weekend didn't end with the peddle boat, check in tomorrow for part 3......

Here are some photos of us enjoying our cruise......

Our new peddle boat "the pelican"

Dan & Kay, check out our redneck gondola pole

We're cruising at full throttle now.....

See how useful a T-post can be....
The mares were "wound up"

Ned & Kelly taking their turn...

The blue roan mare is due the 1st part of May. Do you think she'll make it?

Peddling on in and picking up speed....

Even Wilbur picked his head up from eating to have a better look!
