Rewind One Week (and a couple of days)

I know I got ahead of myself last week with my "Baby Zane Photo Shoot" blog post.... so sorry. Now lets back up a week or so to Tuesday, July 7th, exactly one month before Zane's due date. He has "roomed in" with mom and dad and Zane is ready to go home, see his new room and meet his dogs and horses. I'm still not sure if Zena was ready to meet him. I do know she figured out fast that she is no longer the star of the show. She has been very well behaved even if she isn't getting as much attention as she used to. There were a couple of "snafu's" on Monday and we weren't sure if Zane would be going home Tuesday or not. His head ultrasound was not ordered for Monday and the eye doctor didn't make it to the hospital to do eye exams either. Luckily, everything was taken care of on Tuesday and Kelly didn't have to have one of those "McGee come aparts" and unload on somebody......

All of us (Ned, Kelly and myself) had come to the hospital together on Monday morning so after Ned went with me to the roof of the parking deck for my Nashville Skyline shots I headed on back to Columbia while they roomed in with Zane. They weighed Zane Monday night, his final official NICU weigh in and he had reached a whopping 5 pounds and 12 ounces! Tuesday morning I headed to the Women's Hospital at Centennial, a trip I had been making for 7 weeks. This was by far the most exciting trip yet. Our stay at Centennial was filled with highs and lows and now we were within hours of ending this phase of our lives and bringing home a very special bundle of joy. God is good.

I took photos....lots of 'em. I won't bore you with all of 'em... I'll just bore you with some of 'em. Enjoy!!

Kim Leady, our dear friend and the grandmother of Joyce another NICU baby, came and visited with Zane before we headed home. We made some amazing friends on this journey. Friendships we'll treasure for years to come.....

Mommy & Daddy trying to get Zane ready to go home....

Daddy struggling with all those snaps......Zane had been wearing regular clothes for some time now you'd think Ned would have the snap thing figured out.... okay, nobody really has the baby clothes snap thing figured out!

Ready to go....

Zane had just gotten back from his eye exam and his little eyes were all red and puffy.... didn't they know this was going to be camera time!!!
