Now for your Zane update.
Yesterday was a busy, busy day for us. Kelly had her 2 week doctor check up, I went to a class for NICU parents and grandparents and then we had a tornado warning! Needless to say we never got a chance to log on to the internet and check email or blog. Monday, Zane was moved to a "big boy" bed. He wasn't able to maintain his body temp so he went back to the giraffe bed. He's really too young to try this but he's doing so good the doctor wanted to give it a try. He is also getting one bottle every 24 hours. He plays around with it and may take a little, not a lot. He's too young for this too but Dr. McKee wants him to be introduced to the bottle. His weight went to 4-5 on Monday night and to 4-7 last night! A real porker! The occupational therapist came by today and did Zane's assesment. He passed with flying colors! Friday she will come by and teach Ned & Kelly to do baby massage. In a couple of weeks, when he is at 34 weeks gestation age, the speech therapist will come by and work with him on his bottle sucking technique. He still has a feeding tube and will have it until he can take all his feedings by bottle. Here are some more photos! Enjoy!
Zane is living in the "lilly pad" now, so the frog outfit is sooo appropriate.

my mom says i was 2 weeks late. surely they had the due date wrong. 2 weeks past due?? that is pure tourture. her due date was feb.14th and i was born march 1st. she tried to get the dr to enduce on feb 29th,leap day, but it was a sunday and the dr didn't want to come in:) i weighed 8lb 12 oz. OUCH!

I was 6 days before my due date. Weighed 7 something?? Got induced only to have a c-section 10 days early with Karsyn weighing 8lbs even and 11 days early c-section with Presley 7lbs 3oz.

I was born a little late. I was due on Halloween but was born Nov 4 which was on my cousin's 16th birthday -oooh she was mad at me! I think I weighed around 7lbs. As for my own kids...1st 2 weeks late(induced) 8lb13oz. 2nd 2 weeks early 8lb14oz and 3rd just a few days early 7lb6oz...

I was born 2 and a half months early like Zane. I had a feeding tube and I didn't know how to suck a bottle. I stayed in the NICU for a long time. NOW I am 13 years old. I am on the Cross Country team and run 4 miles Mon Wed and Fri during the summer to stay in shape. I play on the basketball team in the winter and in the spring I will be on the Baseball team (catcher) and the Golf team. I just wish I could be on the tennis team again next year but it overlaps with golf. So hang in there little buddy Zane.

I was born pretty much on time I think. My brothers birthday who is 4 years older than me is March 3rd and my mom started labor that day but finished up his cake and his party before going to have me which she did on March 4th!

ReplyDeleteI was born a couple weeks early. They figured I was a boy and had the name Blaine picked out...but then...I did not have one of "those" things and ended up being this spit-fire girl. I weighed 7lb 2 oz When they FINALLy came up with Courtney, it's said that the rest of the family did not care for it because they only knew boys with that name. YA WEIRD! But I'm also not a big fan of the name Courtney, and still at 27 I ask my mom if I can change it to just COURT....she says no:(
